Prominent systems, inc's anthracite filter media is selected naturally hard
clean anthracite, It is an excellent filtration medium for gravity and
pressure filters, for treatment of hard and soft water, sewage, oil and
acid/alkali liquids.
The hardness of carbocite ensures minimum wastage by attrition in service.
It contains 80% of pure carbon. The irregular shape of the particles offers
a larger surface area per unit of volume and larger spaces between particles
which enable high filtration rates with low head losses to be obtained. The
greater surface area of carbocite promotes the efficient removal of algae,
turbidity and bacteria.
The advantages of using anthracite become expressed as follows:
- faster filtration
- longer filter runs
- low loss of head
- economic use of space
- easy to handle
- savings in wash water
- big capital savings
- long life
